New Jersey man charged with weapons possession in Castile CASTILE – Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies Thursday arrested a New Jersey man on a felony weapons charge following a traffic stop on North Main Street. Michael C. Harris, 42, of East Orange, N.J., was traveling on Route 39 when he was stopped for a speeding infraction, during which an electronic stun gun was found in the driver door pocket of his tractor trailer, according to the sheriff’s office. It is illegal to possess a stun gun in New York State. Harris was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies and the tractor-trailer was towed from the scene. Further investigation revealed that Harris has an extensive criminal history in New Jersey, including two felony convictions, which elevated the weapons possession charge into a felony. He also was charged with speeding. Harris was arraigned in Town of Perry Court and committed to the Wyoming County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear Monday in Town of Castile Court.
